We in the San Fernando Valley are fortunate to be living near some beauthful areas in our local mountains. To the south there is a whole patchwork of protected parks named the Santa Monica Mountains Recreation area. To the north we have wonderful hikes in the Santa Susana Mountains. Through pictures we will be featuring the gems we have in our local mountains. The pictures you are seeing are from past hikes but all of those hikes will be done again in March and April 2012. The actual hike descriptions are in the "hike" link on the side bar. You can look for them by their name or date.
