Sierra Club demands action on Porter Ranch gas leak

Porter Ranch, CA – Today, the South Coast Air Quality Management District provided Californians who have been forced to abandon their homes and their daily lives and those concerned by Southern California Gas Company’s methane disaster an opportunity to speak out and demand answers.

California Gov. Jerry Brown has finally declared a state of emergency in response to the massive out-of-control gas leak that has been flowing unchecked -- and sickening residents -- for months.

On Jan. 9 (Saturday), there will be an important public hearing to consider what measures should be taken to hold Southern California Gas Co. accountable for the gas leak in Porter Ranch, and protect the community from additional harm.
