John Muir was born April 21, 1838. Each year the Chapter celebrates with a series of rendez-vous hikes: Various groups start out on different hikes and meet up to celebrate the Sierra Club founder.
Join us for these special hikes that commemorate the life of the Sierra Club founder who persuaded presidents and America to protect its wildlands forever.
The hikes: Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area
You can help decide the direction of the nation's largest grassroots environmental organization by voting in the Sierra Club's annual board of directors election. National board members are elected for three-year terms.

The leaking underground storage facility sent more than 95,000 metric tons of methane into the atmosphere, making this site the largest contributor to climate change in the state.
But it's not the only place where horrific methane pollution poses a threat.
