Executive Committee Officers for 2023
We are excited to announce our Chapter's Executive Officers for the coming term (2023)! Leading the charge as Chair is Dyana Peña, who brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role, entering her second full year as chair. A resident of Lynwood, CA, she is a first-generation daughter of Mexican immigrants and a lifelong environmentalist. Her ultimate goal is for the Chapter to be a welcoming home to anyone who wishes to protect our environment.

Get to Know New Executive Committee Member, Steve Dunwoody
We’re excited to welcome, Steve Dunwoody, of the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter’s newest elected board members. He will be officially taking office in January 2022.

Dennis Loya Stepping down as Chapter Chair, Welcome Dyana Peña as new Chair
In mid-September, chapter chair Dennis Loya resigned from his committee positions, including his role as chapter chair. Citing an increasing workload in his day job and the increasing stress of chapter responsibilities, Dennis felt it was in the best interest of both his family and the chapter to step back and better focus on health and family.

Call for Angeles Chapter Executive Committee Candidates
The Sierra Club Angeles Chapter nominating committee is looking for members from sections and groups across the Chapter to run for the chapter Executive Committee (ExCom). We are striving for the Angeles Chapter leadership to reflect the diverse membership and population of the Los Angeles and Orange Counties. We believe that environmental injustice/climate change disproportionately hurts the most marginalized people in society — including people of color, people from working class backgrounds, women and LGBTQ people.
