The Sierra Club's West L.A. Group has endorsed the proposal to convert part of Santa Monica Airport into parkland. Rep. Henry Waxman, whose district includes the airport, has repeatedly tried to engage the Federal Aviaitoin Administration on the future of the airport. The Santa Monica City Council has indicated it would like a 1984 agreement with the FAA and others to expire in 2015.
The California coastline is threatened by a desalination facility proposed to create fresh water from the ocean in Huntington Beach. Water from this proposal is just too harmful to the environment and the economy!
