Earth Month was a breath of fresh air for the members and friends of Sierra Club Angeles Chapter, who laced up their hiking boots and hit the trails for a month full of adventure, exploration, and appreciation for the great outdoors. Here are some highlights.

2023 Annual Awards Banquet

Every year, the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club hosts an annual celebration and fundraiser to raise money to accomplish four goals: transforming our energy systems, protecting our ecosystems, ensuring outdoors for all, and acting for justice. This year, the event will be held on May 21, 2023, at 300 S Mission Rd in Downtown Los Angeles and will include a luncheon, pop-up shops, deep dives into some of our key initiatives, live music by DJ Meatless Beats, and will be featuring comedian Kristina Wong as the keynote speaker. Long-time member, volunteer, and the event host, Chuck Currier, will also recognize and honor important members of our community.

A WEEKEND OF #SIERRA TOGETHER IN THE SNOW-CAPPED EASTERN SIERRAS

Eastern Sierras

On April 28th and 29th, pro-cyclist and Angeles Chapter supporter Phil Gaimon hosted Whiskey Tango Fondo, an epic cycling event in the Alabama Hills area of the Eastern Sierras. The event brought together 500 gravel bike riders from all over the US and Canada to test their skills on 50, 70, or 100 mile courses, climbing as much as 11,750 feet. Riders experienced the contrast of the year’s first heat wave while also enjoying views of the Owens Valley.
