Featured Events below highlight our Travel Adventures. We will be adding more Adventures, plus Featured Outings and Activities to this page as we begin to reopen in-person gatherings. Please note that proceeds for these Featured Events are also important fundraisers which provide vital support for the work of the Angeles Chapter.
Our schedule often includes trips to the mountains, canyonlands and jungles of Asia, Europe, and North America, as well as our most local back yards, but no matter where we are, we never forget the Sierra Club's mission: to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet. May 5 - 19, 2024Sponsored by:Angeles Chapter, Crescenta Valley GroupSee vibrant Morocco & experience the culture, nature, and sights. We will walk through the old narrow streets of Marrakech’s Medina, Ait Ben Haddou's kasbah, and drive the Thousand Kasbah road visiting a few kasbahs on our way to the Dades Gorge. Hike in the Todra Gorge if you want. and go to the Moroccan desert and meet a Berber family. Along the way, we'll go to Azrou (looking for Barbary macaques), Fez, the Roman archaeological city of Volubilis and Casablanca.

It is a shining gem of a destination in the Indian Ocean, and is rich in culture, UNESCO World Heritage sites, wildlife, birds, and stunning beaches. It offers world-class shopping for clothes, gems, and art, and its unique and delicious cuisine is rich in fresh seafood and vegetables.
See Sri Lank's North Central Heritage Cities, home to five UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave Temple, and Kandy (including Temple of the Tooth, another world heritage site), which are rich in ancient architecture and religious monuments. A visit to a typical village to meet local families, and a lunch at a women's cooperative. ;In Kandy, we plan to visit the national botanical gardens. Visit a spice market, a gem museum.

This is a trip to Central Mongolia and the Gobi Desert in Mongolia, the land of open space. This trip visits Hustai Nuruu National Park where you will see the Mongolian wild horse ( Przewalski's horse)and other animals such as wild gazelles, wild mountain sheep, deer, and birds.We will visit Karakorum, the capital from Genghis Khan times.

As we all know, Sierra Club Huts and Lodges have been shut down for nearly 3 years and are in critical need of funds to operate the Lodge. Funds from this event go to support Harwood Lodge.

Moderately paced 5 mile, approx. 500' elevation gain from Scorpion Anchorage to Potato Harbor offering spectacular coastal views. Visit the historic ranch dating to the late 1800's. Meet 8:00am at the Island Packers terminal in Ventura Harbor. Each participant is responsible for purchasing their own tickets and the round trip price for seniors is $61 and adults is $66.

Discover history, culture, architecture, shops, and more! We will walk 5 miles on mostly flat terrain (but it includes stairs).
The hike begins and ends at LA Union Station. Meet at 10:45 am outside the main (west) entrance of Union Station [800 N Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90012] in the paved palm-tree-lined area.

This year the Hundred Peaks Section will be holding its 2024 Holiday Hoopla over the weekend of December 6-8. We've reserved a group campsite for both Friday and Saturday nights (Dec 6 and 7) at Joshua Tree Lake, RV and Campground located nearby Joshua Tree National Park. After spending the day bagging peaks on one of the several outings that will be available, Saturday night we'll all meet up at the campground to celebrate the Holiday Season HPS style with a big potluck happy hour about 6 pm.
