March Appeal: Our biggest annual fundraiser

Every springtime the Angeles Chapter launches a big fundraising appeal, reaching as many donors as possible. The springtime appeal is the largest fundraiser we run, keeping our core environmental work moving ahead as we’ve promised to our members we would. But, mailing thousands of letters is expensive and wasteful. As we stand by our commitment to protect the planet, we are offering alternative ways to reach even more donors - including reducing the number of letters we mail out each year. 

 

This year, along with increasing our fundraising goals, we are putting into practice ways to reduce paper waste. By making a donation online, you are helping us build our power in more ways than one.

 

Every gift - of any size - is meaningful. 100% of your donation will stay local and will be put to work supporting the programs and campaigns that you care the most about and will read about in SoCal Now. 

 

In additional to supporting - and growing - our amazing Outings program, here are a few more projects we’re working on right now:

 

Partnering with the City of Los Angeles on an ambitious and equitable plan to create more parks for more people to enjoy. Currently, millions of Angelinos still live in park-poor neighborhoods with no access to nature and outdoors spaces. 

Fully accessing the Inflation Reduction Act, a once-in-a-generation opportunity to switch homes and businesses to clean energy. We’re pushing our cities, counties and school districts to spend this money wisely.

Training the next generation of climate leaders with our wildly successful Activist Academy program. 

 

We’re investing more than ever before in finding, nurturing, and mentoring new leaders here in Southern California. We know that change starts at home and that through our grassroots power, we will create significant impact. More environmental leaders means that there’s that much more strength in the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter’s long legacy of positive change.

 

 

To change everything, we truly need everyone’s support. We’re up against opponents who continue to push dirty, dangerous, and destructive projects onto us. We must continue to grow our movement. While global inaction turns into local consequences, it’s time to engage as many people as possible in our work.
