The Banquet Committee is extremely pleased to announce this year’s keynote speaker: Jason "Journeyman" Wise. You might recognize him from TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram! His passion is truly infectious! Jason is a Certified California Naturalist, environmental educator, conservationist, trail guide, photographer, LGBTQ activist, and writer, with a masters degree (MPP) in environmental policy. He believes that access to and education around nature creates environmental advocates.

Plans are already underway for the 2024 Angeles Chapter Banquet and Awards Presentation! The event will be held in May of 2024 - exact date and location are TBD.
 
Join our planning committee! We have several volunteer opportunities, including  sponsor solicitations, auction planning, awards logistics, decor, marketing, and many other ways to help make this occasion very special for our awardees and a successful fundraiser.

Angeles Chapter Annual Awards Banquet returns after three-year hiatus

Sierra Club Angeles Chapter leaders and supporters gathered on May 1 at Friendship Auditorium in Griffith Park to celebrate its 2019 awardees. More than 100 members and supporters came together to recognize our volunteers, whose efforts to explore and preserve wild places attest to the chapter’s resiliency in the face of overlapping crises to our climate, health, and democracy.

Please be advised that the Angeles Chapter Annual Awards Banquet honoring the 2019 Awardees for outstanding volunteer achievements has been canceled for Sunday, May 2, 2021. The recognition for 2019’s awardees will be carried forward to the next Chapter Awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday, May 1, 2022.
