Yup, we all know climate change is real

New state-by-state polling reports issued in November find that the vast majority of Americans in traditionally red and blue states accept climate science and want government action to clean up climate pollution.

The state reports were released by Rep. Henry A. Waxman (CA-33) and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (RI), co-chairs of the Bicameral Task Force on Climate Change. Key findings showed that in every state surveyed, at least 75% of the population acknowledges the existence of climate disruption. T

he reports also showed that in every state surveyed, at least two-thirds of the population believes that the government should limit dangerous greenhouse gas emissions created by polluting industries.

“If the devastation in the Philippines has shown us anything about the climate crisis, it’s that we can’t wait any longer for climate action from our leaders," Michael Brune, Sierra Club Executive Director, said in response. "This new state-level polling analysis makes clear that Americans across the country understand the dangers of climate disruption and want action from their leaders now."
