Think about creating a version of the environment in crochet. That's the idea behind a new exhibition by Liz Flynn and Alyssa Arney, who run an organization called Threadwinners.

The two will debut an immersive nature-scape installation called "Reveries" from 3 to 6 p.m. July 8 inside of the Knitting Tree LA at 1031 W. Manchester Blvd, #2 in Inglewood. The show continues through Aug. 11.

The exhibition's theme is to have viewers consider what a landscape can be and, according to Threadwinners, "a reflection on the human hand being a cultivator and destroyer of the world around us and how impactful we are upon the environment."

The works on display reflect a variety of landscape blankets or tapestries, including a coral reef (comprised of spray painted stencils, buttons, floral pins, crochet limpets and barnacles), a flower garden, a succulent and cacti garden, a lawn (with green and brown pompoms, mushrooms, flowers, etc.) and more.

A portion of all artwork sales will be donated to the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter.
