Angeles Chapter's International Issues Committee in partnership with Sierra Club's Responsible Trade Team and the Presbyterian Church USA invite Sierra Club members to view the highlyrespected film, Sweet Crude on Sunday, September 26, at the First Presbyterian Church, McAulay Hall, in the City of Orange. The program will begin promptly at 6:30pm.

Filmmaker Sandy Cioffi will join us from Seattle, and Rachel Ackoff, of Sierra Club's Labor, Workers' Rights & Trade Program, will join us from DC. They will lead a discussion directly after the screening.

Sweet Crude captures the tragedies of oil extraction in the Niger Delta where billions of dollars of crude oil flow under the feet of a desperate people and where immense wealth and abject poverty stand in stark contrast.

Just as the Gulf oil spill threatens to devastate communities here in the US, communities the world over face ongoing threats to their livelihoods and environment while seldom benefiting from the wealth generated through natural resource extraction. This screening is part of the ongoing efforts to help citizens from resource-rich countries hold their governments accountable for the management of their natural resources.

Admission is free of charge but reservations are requested; e-mail or call 202-548-6593. For more information about this event, contact Joan Jones Holtz (626-443-0706; ).
