Bill and Connie Bradley.

Bill Bradley, 1933-2008
Bill Bradley joined the Sierra Club in 1969 after remarking at the beauty of the mountains in California. A Connecticut native, Bill moved to Whittier, CA in 1966 and immediately began hiking and trekking in the San Bernardino range. Looking for a wider and higher venue for his beloved climbing Bill struck upon the Sierras and presto a love affair was born. He set about climbing all the peaks on the Sierra Peaks Section list and the Desert Peaks Section list. His great love of the mountains and wilderness areas, in the Sierra and elsewhere, was a catharsis for Bill who often said, 'After my family, there is nowhere else I would rather spend my time.' Bill led numerous climbs, in both Sierra Club Sections, and assisted on many others. He summitted Mt. Whitney three times and climbed extensively in Washington, Oregon and Arizona as well. Bill Bradley passed away June 9th 2008 at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife Connie, five children (Cliff, Clyde, Cheri, Carol and Chris), his brother Bob, and five grandchildren (Christie, Evan, Erin, Laura and Stephanie). He will be dearly missed

Lawrence Edward Remy was born on October, 21 1927, to Katharine and William Remy in Pasadena, California, As a child he enjoyed scouting and outdoor activities and later became an Eagle Scout. Larry's schooling in Pasadena started at Stoneman and Huntington Elementary schools and he finished at South Pasadena High where he served as an assistant to the football coach. After high school he attended USC before being drafted into the army. Returning from the service he completed his business degree at Claremont Men's College. He and his wife Virginia raised five children; Mary Lee, Elaine, Jim, Alice and Ron. He taught his children to love and enjoy nature. Larry was an active member of the Sierra Club and the Canyon Explorers where he was a participant and leader in many activities such as; backpacking, camping, biking, X-C skiing and photography. His membership in the Unity Church of Tustin gave him strength spiritually in his later years. He lived 80 full years of life. We will miss his kind hand shake, loud laughter and beautiful smile. He would sign off by saying, 'so long for now'.
