The conspiracy continues. White Mountain Peak in Mono County, 65 miles north of Mount Whitney is taller. The NGS, US Forest Service and others have conspired to continue to deny this fact to keep Lone Pine from drying up commercially and to protect the Ancient Bristlecone trees that are in the White Mountains.
