I live in the Manila Dunes where these programs were begun. The only reason they are continued is that adverse impacts are not reported, and if reported they are ignored. Our community spent millions of Z-berg/Nejedly "wetland enhancement" money, removing non-native vegetation til our wetlands drained and disappeared. We reported the loss of wetlands years ago yet those wetlands are still on the National Wetland Inventory, California Aquatic Resources Inventory and Humboldt County's own GIS. Here is an example of what is being called "restoration," 550 acres of rare ESHA destroyed by State Parks.
