The City of Burbank was just 40 years old in 1950, but the Verdugo Mountains were already ancient. As a celebration of young and old, the City of Burbank will celebrate its centennial in 2010 by publishing a book on the Verdugo Mountains. If you grew up in or near Burbank and hiked the Verdugos, your story and/or any historical photos are most welcome. Of particular interest are the Boy Scout Lodge in Stough Canyon, the Tree Plantation, and photos of trailheads that provide access to the mountain. If you wish to share your hiking story and photos, please contact John Radalj, by telephone or email: 818-848-0118, jradalj@att.net.
