Community Tree Watering in Sunland Brings Out People of All Ages

A community Tree Watering event, sponsored by the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council’s Safe Traffic & Transportation Committee, the Crescenta Valley Group of the Sierra Club and Council District 7, held another successful tree watering on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Phil Gaimon, author, retired pro-cyclist, and Sierra Club supporter is once again featuring the Angeles Chapter as the only title non-profit organization at this year’s Cookie Fondo. The Cookie Fondo is one of Phil’s signature events, drawing thousands of people to the Santa Monica Mountains during the weekend of October 26th and 27th.

Some exciting news for the Angeles Chapter Library!! After much-expressed interest and enthusiasm from members surrounding the induction of the new Library Committee, we’d like to invite you to join our first official meetings. Member involvement and commitment will be tailored to your schedule and can be as flexible as you need. The Library Committee is a space for members to build community, connect through the shared delight of reading, propose and plan future library events, upkeep the library, raise funds for the library, etc.

Hi everyone! My name is Alex Chang, and I worked as a volunteer for the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter this summer. I recently graduated from Claremont High School in Claremont, California, and I am starting at UCLA this fall as a Climate Science major. In my free time, I like hiking, playing basketball with my friends, and learning as much as I can about the world. 
 
 

2024 Angeles Chapter Banquet and Awards Presentation

Pro-Cyclist Phil Gaimon Hosts Events in Support of the Angeles Chapter

Phil Gaimon, who refers to himself as a retired pro-cyclist (he calls it the “worst retirement ever”), is passionate about many things including cycling, his lovely wife, his adorable dogs, cookies, and the environment.
