Turn Santa Monica Airport into parkland? Join us Oct. 3 to discuss

The Sierra Club's West L.A. Group has endorsed the proposal to convert part of Santa Monica Airport into parkland. Rep. Henry Waxman, whose district includes the airport, has repeatedly tried to engage the Federal Aviaitoin Administration on the future of the airport. The Santa Monica City Council has indicated it would like a 1984 agreement with the FAA and others to expire in 2015.

Airport2Park.org is a coalition of community groups and neighbors formed to promote the creation of a great park on the land that is currently Santa Monica Airport. Join activists for a meeting Thursday evening (Oct. 3). See details below.
