Bristlecone Pine 102 by Peter MasonAfter a four year hiatus, the Sierra Club Camera Committee presents its 23rd Photography Auction on Saturday, November 10, with refreshments, socializing, door prizes, and, of course, great artworks to buy.

Since the last auction, member photographers have been creating beautiful and engaging new images including natural and urban environments, architecture, portraiture, wildlife and still-life subjects, in traditional and digital formats, in black & white and color media, from local and exotic locations.

Photographers of renown join members in supporting the Camera Committee with generous donations to a wonderful selection of fine-art and editorial prints, photo books and other items. For the first time, auction lots will be curated by a jury to create a well-rounded collection of quality images in styles to suit all tastes.

This auction will be an art pop-up of sorts, hosted by the G2 Gallery, Los Angeles's best source for conservation-minded photography, within their lovely Venice space on Abbott Kinney Boulevard.

Starting at 4:30 p.m., an hour of print-viewing and socializing will launch the event. Savory and sweet snacks and beverages, including wine and soft drinks will be served. Silent auction bids on selected items will be collected throughout the evening. Live auction bidding commences at 5:30 p.m. The Committee is hoping to see some lively bidding, but there is still a good chance that some bidders will take home bargains.

The donors list and a preview of the live auction offerings will be available on the Committee’s website at http://angeles.sierraclub.org/camera. New donors will be announced and new auction items will be added weekly, so visit often.

Proceeds from the 23rd Photography Auction will benefit the Sierra Club’s Angeles Chapter's programs including the Camera Committee, Inner City Outings, Forest Committee, and other local environmental and conservation programs. Donations to the Sierra Club are not tax deductible.

G2 Gallery is located at 1503 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice. Parking is available on the street and in commercial structures within walking distance.
