Work Parties

Work parties are typically held every first or second weekend of June and October. Interested parties are encouraged to come up and help us maintain the Hut. We meet early Saturday morning 7:30 AM, and group up to ferry supplies. Typical projects include: paint, firewood, supply transportation, landscape, spring cleaning, refuse removal, carpentry, and plumbing. In exchange for a hard days work, participants will enjoy the fine breakfast, lunch and dinner dining concoxtions of the Hut Chef. Meals, drinks, refreshments and overnight accomodations are provided for a nominal charge to participants. Work Parties are great opportunity to become familiar with the Hut operation and become qualified as a Hut Host.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

Due to size and safety limitations, work party participants are limited to 20. Interested individuals will be added to an email distribution list, and receive an invite approximately one-month in advance of the scheduled work party date. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to participate in a Sierra Club outing, you will need to sign a liability waiver. Participants should bring a large pack, wear appropriate clothing and bring a sleeping bag, if planning to stay overnight. Contact Gil Estrada to be added to the email invite list.

The Next Scheduled Work Party is: TBD
