In the interests of facilitating the logistics of some outings, it is customary that participants make carpooling arrangements. The Sierra Club does not have insurance for carpooling arrangements and assumes no liability for them. Carpooling, ride sharing or anything similar is strictly a private arrangement among the participants. Participants assume the risks associated with this travel.

August 4 Moonlight Hike to Echo Mtn

Enjoy night views above LA Basin on moderate 5 mile, 1400' gain hike to historic peak in front range. Meet 7:00 pm N end of Lake Ave. in Altadena with water, snack, good footwear, flashlight. Rain cancels.

August 5 Monthly Meeting

     District Ranger L'Tanya Watson presents "Recreational and Resource Management Issues in the San Gabriel River Ranger District".
     Information is available on the group's hikes, outings, and conservation activities. Newcomers are always welcome. Social hour begins at 7:00 pm, program starts at 7:30 pm.

Kings Canyon NP-Evolution Valley

Moderate 9-day, 62-mile, approx. 3000'-gain and loss backpack into the spectacular high country of the Eastern Sierras. Over Bishop Pass, Muir Pass, through the Evolution Valley to Blaney Hot Springs and out over Piute Pass for the quintessential High Sierra experience. August 29 Mt Islip (8250') from Islip Saddle

Moderately paced 7 mile, 1600' gain hike with great views. Meet 8:00 am La Caņada rideshare point with water, lunch, hiking boots, suitable clothing layers. Rain/fire cancels.
