1. Sugarloaf Peak Panorama
Here's one from last Sept. 3rd [September 3, 2000]. On the week before I had tried this
hike only to be caught in one large thunderstorm. I was a little over halfway to the summit when I
decided to get the heck out of there. I was in the middle of a downpour with hail and lots of lightning.
I also was carrying two aluminum hiking poles - sort of my unintended Benjamin Franklin act. The
panorama is stitched together in Photoshop from seven exposures. It's not perfect but it gives one
the flavor of that mountain meadow.

2. Mt.Baldy hike This was taken on my way up Baldy above the Ski Hut.
It's just a little past where the trail finally breaks onto the ridgeline. One gets a false sense of
relief from the steep ascent for a few minutes but then it's grunt time again as he heads for the summit.
Again I pasted it together from six exposures but they overlapped so much that it didn't turn out to be
a true panorama.

3. Mt. Williamson Here's one I stitched together as a
panorama. It's of a hike that was a loop from the unnamed saddle 1/4 mile west of the tunnels on the
Angeles Crest Hwy to Mt. Williamson, cross country to Palette Mt. and down to Burkhart Saddle. From there
we proceeded down to Little Rock Creek and took the Rattlesnake Trail to Eagles Roost. Most of us walked
the remaining distance to our cars on the road although others did cross the road and take a very short
trail back. It was 6/7/98.

4. Fish canyon trail 5. Fish canyon falls
6. Strawberry peak 7. Mt. Waterman
Here are a couple I've been working on for a while. Each was stitched together in photoshop
from three exposures. They are of views taken from the summits of Mt.Waterman and Strawberry Pk.
(Waterman panorama has rocks in the foreground).
8. Devil's chair
Here's a snap from a hike to the Devil's Chair overlooking the Devil's Punchbowl.

9. Baldy meadow 10. Devil's backbone
On July 26th I hiked up the Ski Hut trail ...and down the Devil's Backbone trail. I attach
two images from that hike which, although I climbed solo, put me in the company of some others who were climbing
that day as well. (Brooks was leading several others to the summit). I particularly like the wildflowers around
the spring just below the ski hut. I also include an obligitory shot of the Devil's Backbone. Brooks and the
others went back down the way they came up. My left knee dictated to me that I needed to decend more gradually,
ergo the backbone route.
