5 mile, 500'gain hike to historic peak in front range. Meet 7:00 pm La Caņada rideshare point with

Mike McIntyre, district ranger for the Los
Angeles River Ranger District of Angeles National Forest, presents a slide-illustrated program
concerning current plans for restoring rock-strewn Rubio Canyon above Altadena, and will provide
an update on other environmental issues in his ranger district.
Information is available on the group's hikes, outings, and conservation activities. Newcomers
are always welcome. Social hour begins at 7:00 pm, program starts at 7:30 pm.

East Fork San Gabriel River - Hike and Protect |

| Join us on a summer hike along the E. Fork
of the San Gabriel River as we follow it north into the Sheep Mountain Wilderness. You will see
the shortage of resources that thousands of visitors experience and you will have the opportunity
to take a small action to help improve the health of the river. 6 miles rt., 700' gain. There will
be stream crossings and boulder-hopping, so you are likely to get wet. Meet 8:30 am at the Azusa
rideshare point. Bring sturdy shoes, sun protection, water and lunch. Leaders: Juana Torres, Rick Farber. |

Monthly Meeting and Candidate Forum |

Bob Cates, chair of the Angeles Chapter
History Committee, will present "Golden Youth: The Adventures of Glen Dawson Growing Up in the
Sierra Club," featuring photos and descriptions of early Dawson visits to local mountains and
farther afield, along with accounts of his rock climbing and ski mountaineering exploits. The
program will be followed by a Candidate Forum of candidates for the Angeles Chapter Executive
Committee. Information is available on the group's hikes, outings,
and conservation activities. Newcomers are always welcome. Social hour begins at 7:00 pm,

| Come and meet Sierra Club leaders of the
Pasadena, Crescenta Valley, Verdugo Hills Groups, OC and LA Sierra Singles and many other Sierra
Club representatives. Learn all about the Sierra Club and the many activities offered in your
neighborhood. Table displays, exhibits, demonstrations, refreshments. Free drawing. Join Sierra Club
at $25 special introductory rate, free gift! Meet 1 pm (to 4 pm) at Eaton Canyon Nature Center,

Environmentalists Annual Rendezvous and Picnic |

| Join leaders of Pasadena-area environmental
groups in an informal setting and learn about their activities and programs. Gather at 4:30 pm,
informal presentations 5:00 pm, potluck picnic 6:00 pm under the oaks south of the Nature Center at
Eaton Canyon Park,1750 N. Altadena Drive, Pasadena (from the 210 Freeway in Pasadena, take Altadena
Drive north about 1.5 miles; about 500 feet after crossing New York Drive, turn right into park).
All are welcome. Bring a dish serving 6-8 people. Beverages, plates and utensils will be provided.
