Coal to Renewables: Let's
Accelerate the Transition

Three years ago, the Pasadena City Council rejected a proposal to extend for 17 more years beyond 2027 its contract to buy electricity from Intermountain Power Plant, a huge 1,900-megawatt coal-fired plant in Utah that supplies over 60% of the city's electricity.

Welcome to New Members

If you are a new member, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Sierra Club's Pasadena Group, and invite your participation in our Group activities.
We hold monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at the Eaton Canyon Nature Center, lead day hikes in the San Gabriel Mountains and occasional weekend outings to other locations, and sponsor activities to inform ourselves and the general public about local, regional, state, and national environmental issues.
We hope to see you soon at one of our meetings, hikes, or other activities. Please feel free to contact any of the group officers listed on our Contacts page for additional information about our activities.

- Liz Pomeroy
