Save the rain!
Want to install a rain barrel or build a rain garden, but not sure where to begin? The Sierra Club sponsors TreePeople to show you how simple "do it yourself" projects can maximize your ability to capture rain water for reuse. Learn how to use harvested water to irrigate your vegetable garden so you can save money, water and make your home sustainably beautiful!
Join us at 7 PM on Wednesday January 27 in the Community Room of the Palos Verdes Library, 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates (entrance also on Deep Valley Dr). Refreshments served. For more information, call Joyce White 310-383-5247.

Harwood Lodge

Harwood Lodge

Harwood Lodge was built in 1930 as a memorial to Aurelia S. Harwood, past president of the Sierra Club and Angeles Chapter leader. The lodge stands today as a place to get away from the city and enjoy the solitude of clear mountain air and blue skies.

The Purposes of the Sierra Club

  • To explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth
  • To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystem and resources
  • To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment
  • To use all lawful means to carry out these objectives
