Learn ways to protect the areas we hike and enjoy on this moderately paced trek on the Heaton Flats Trail above the E Fork of the San Gabriel River. This 6 mi, 2000' gain hike will offer outstanding view of Mt Baldy and the San Antonio Ridge. We will talk about how this remote area can get greater protection and how the less remote areas can better serve visitors. Meet 8:30 am at the Azusa rideshare pt. Bring water, lunch, hat and extra clothing layer. Heavy rain cancels.
