The December, 2008 OMC Meeting minutes were approved with corrections.
Notices
1. Advanced Mountaineering Program - have meeting with Dan Richter - 4 outings - training for rock techniques in October - workshops not attached to checkoffs.
Committee Reports
1. Treasurer & Int'l Trip Liaison & Outings Assembly - Donna Specht - See written report.
2. WTC - Jane Simpson. WTC is completely filled.
3. LTC - Tina Bowman. Written report submitted.
4. Safety Committee - Phil Wheeler - See written report. Safety Committee will meet 3/23/09. LTP safety policy approved.
5. LOSC - Marc Hertz / Sherry Ross - Sherry is Vice Chair of LOSC. The Los Padres Chapter has started a Wilderness Basics Course.
6. Conservation - John Hinz - NSS rep will attend next meeting. Another Tejon Ranch meeting - the TR Conservancy is supposed to have a hiking commitee.
7. Ombudsman - Bill Jackson - no report.
8. Bus Transportation - Joel Goldberg - no report.
9. First Aid Coordinator - Steve Goldstein - written report submitted.
10. Land Manager Coordinator - Patrick Vaughn - sent Kent an email to distribute to the Committee.
11. ICO - reported on problems encountered by San Diego ICO - contributions to United Way cannot be directed to ICO. ICO outings not open to the public.
12. Carbon Footprint TF - Setting up meeting.
13. Diversity TF - no report.
Old Business
1. Affiliation with Red Cross and SCMA - Kent Schwitkis - no report.
2. Rules of Conduct Revision passed.
3. Kent Schwitkis elected OMC Chair for 2009.
New Business / Action Items
1. WTC Policies and Procedures revision - passed.
2. Outings Assembly - George Denny, Mary Morales and Sylvia Darie appointed to committee.
3. National's Outings Chair Training 12-15 March. Chapter will share cost with entities.
4. Marc Hertz elected to fill vacancy on the Committee created by the resignation of Terry Bass.
5. Discussion of recent California Supreme Court decision on the Good Samaritan Rule (applies to first aid only, not rescue).
6. Mary Morales appointed Vice Chair of OMC.
