Our Monthly General Meetings are a great source of information. Every meeting includes a presentation centered around environmental issues and exotic travels. See meeting description below for location and instructions.

JULY 14 MON THE PLIGHT OF THE MONARCH BUTTERFLIES
Monthly Meeting: Presentation on the Monarch Butterflies' annual mass migration up and down the east and west coasts of the U.S. They depend on an abundance of the milkweed plant to survive. Joe & Priscilla, volunteers with the Western Monarch Heroes, will share their insight on ways we can help increase the Monarch population. Social hour & program $3 donation. Meet 6:30 PM at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave., Costa Mesa. For optional potluck, bring a dish to share, your own utensils, plate and beverage. AUG 11 MON 6:30 PM NEWCOMER/MEMBER INFO NIGHT
[Angeles Chapter Membership Committee, OCSS] Come and discover the Sierra Club with the Orange County Group, Sierra Sage, OC and LA Sierra Singles, Natural Science, Hundred Peak Section, Wilderness Travel Course and many other Sierra Club representatives. Learn all about the Sierra Club and the many activities and adventure outings available. Table displays, exhibits, refreshments. Join Sierra Club @ $25 Special Introductory rate; free gift. Meet 6:30-9 pm Costa Mesa Community Center, 1845 Park Ave, Costa Mesa (55 Fwy S, R on 19th, cross Harbor Blvd., L on Park Ave, R into parking lot next to library.) SEPT 8 MON 6:30 PM YUCATAN PENINSULA, MEXICO & ANGELES CHAPTER CANDIDATE FORUM
Monthly Meeting: Come meet and interact with the Angeles Chapter Excomm 2009 candidates. Also, join us to hear Ana Juarez, Sierra Club leader, share the wonders of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico with a presentation of her visits to the area. View slides of the ancient sites of Tulum, modern Xcaret Eco park, Sian Ka'an Biosphere and Chichen Itza where the Mayan Indian left their legacy of temple-pyramids, palaces and observatories. Social hour & program $3 donation. Meet 6:30 PM at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave., Costa Mesa. OCT 13 MON 6:30 PM THE ALASKAN HIGHWAY & POINTS NORTH
Monthly Meeting: Mike and Patty Sappingfield traversed the famous Inside Passage and the entire length of the Alcan Highway and invite us to come along on their scenic photographic journey and wild animals encountered in Alaska, the Last Frontier. They visited Fairbanks, Anchorage, Seward, Valdez, as well as Denali, Kenai Fjords and Elias Wrangel National Parks. Social hour & program $3 donation. Meet 6:30 PM at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave., Costa Mesa. For optional potluck, bring a dish to share, your own utensils, plate and beverage.
