Welcome 20's, 30's, & 40's!


You can participate in many different activities with the Orange County Sierra Singles (OCSS) 20s and 30s group. We have easy hikes, all day hikes and conditioning hikes. If you prefer social events we host concerts, movie nights, dances and other social functions that allow you get to know our members in a relaxed atmosphere. While we encourage membership you don't have to be a member to participate in our events. JAN 3 TUES 6:30 PM 20S/30S/40S ALISO CREEK URPAN STROLL
0: Splendid views on this moderately strenuous 8 mile hike with over 2,000 ft gain from Trabuco Canyon to Old Camp in O' Neill Regional Park. Meet at Park & Ride Lot at Avenida De Carlota near Sears in Laguna Hills. Drivers should be aware dirt road to trailhead is 2.0 miles each way and has a stream crossing. High clearance vehicles are recommended. Bring snacks, lunch, sturdy shoes, 2-3 quarts water, & $$ for dinner at nearby eatery after hike. Rain cancels. 0: Join us at El Toro Park in the City of Lake Forest for a moderately paced 4-6 mile roundtrip walk on the paved Aliso Creek Trail. We will walk about 75 minutes slightly uphill, then turn around and head back for a 9:00pm return. Meet at El Toro Park in front of the restrooms at Larkwood Lane & Arrowwood Street in Lake Forest. O: End the day right on this easy pace, 5 mile r/t evening hike up the Toovet and down the Valido trails in Aliso Wood Canyons Wilderness Park with 900 ft elevation change followed by a full moon drum circle and Potluck at Aliso Beach County Park. Meet in front of the restrooms at the INLAND parking lot of Aliso Beach County Park. Bring snacks, sturdy shoes, 2 quarts water, & $$ for parking & and a pot-luck dish to share after the hike. O: Hike spectacular Kauai with diverse trails, breathtaking views, and lush flora. Several days we'll slip into the warm surf, view extraordinary fish skirting the coral, and enjoy island cuisine. By night, we'll slumber peacefully at the Alii Kai Resort in Princeville. Bring your wet weather hiking gear. Meet SAT AM @ LAX, flights & transportation arranged individually by participants. It's now or never, snow season is here! Join us any time Sunday (after 4pm)-Thurs. BYO equipment or rent from Snow Summit. Tickets, lesson prices and directions can be found at www.snowsummit.com. O: This 7 mi R/T, 1900 ft gain trail passes fascinating strata on the climb to Bedford Peak (3760ft). Enjoy sweeping vistas across the Santa Ana Mountains, Temescal Valley, Lake Mathews, Ladd Canyon, and OC. Bring snacks to share, hiking boots, 2-3 quarts water, and $$ for optional dinner after hike. O: Easy-moderate paced, 6-7 mile r/t, about 1000 ft gain. Enjoy sunset views of Catalina and the Pacific coast as we descend and ascend ridges. FEB 9-16 THU-THU 8:00 AM 20S/30S/40S SOUTHERN UTAH ADVENTURE
O: Hike 4-7 miles each day at: Kolob, Wildcat, & Echo Cyns. in Zion Nat'l Pk., Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs, Cottonwood Point, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Pine Valley, Snow Canyon, Dinosaur Tracks, & Pipe Springs. Depart 8am, Thurs. Feb. 9th from N. OC Rideshare to Washington, UT. We have 3 bed, 2.5 bath condo rented for the week at the Canyon Villas at Coral Ridge. Bring your cold weather hiking gear. Escape to the Grand Canyon for a 5 mile, 3000ft descent/ascent, 1 night backpack into the Grand Canyon to Indian Garden Camp. Bring backpacking gear & food for below freezing weather, 10 essentials, & lug soles. Meet 12 Noon, South Rim Backcountry Reservation Office, Grand Canyon National Park. O: Let' s head out North of OC to see what the San Gabriel Mountains have to offer. Moderate 7 mi R/T, 1,800ft gain hike with a 50 foot waterfall, cascades, & lush wilderness. This hike has it all! Bring ten essentials, lunch, hiking boots, rain gear if needed as rain does not cancel. Meet at 9am NOC Rideshare point, east side of Tustin Ave just south of Lincoln in Orange, or 10:15 am at Chantry Flat parking Lot at end of Santa Anita Ave in Sierra Madre. Leader: Charles G.
