The Angeles Chapter Welcomes New Communications Coordinator Megan Spatz!

The Angeles Chapter welcomes Megan Spatz as the new Communications Coordinator on staff at the chapter office! Megan is excited to grow chapter reach and engagement through exciting and innovative content and further the Sierra Club mission by facilitating connection between the chapter and local activists.

Megan is an award winning creative designer, director and writer. She's an expert in empathetic storytelling in narratives, graphics and branding, and other visuals of all kinds. An experienced creative strategist, she's able to take a complex topic, and distill it into an emotive campaign that speaks to the general public.

With over a decade of experience in film, television and event production, she's expanded her reach to marketing and creative communications, and is excited to collaborate with the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter to inspire and engage the public.

Passionate about climate advocacy, she is dedicated to utilizing innovative and engaging strategies to raise awareness about environmental issues. Through a combination of visual storytelling, compelling narratives, and interactive content, she aims to inspire action and foster a deeper understanding of the urgent need for environmental stewardship. She is especially committed to amplifying Indigenous voices, and recognizes their unique perspectives and vital contributions to sustainable practices.

Megan was born in Alaska, the daughter of two geologists. Her parents’ work took her over to Scotland at age 6, and she spent her childhood there. She returned to the United States as a teenager, finishing up high school in Houston, Texas. She studied design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh before coming out to Los Angeles. After all that moving around she's happily settled in Highland Park and is always looking for her new favorite hike.

Her dog Sage is a beloved community staple, and the proud new office dog addition to the chapter. Stop by and say hi to both of them!
