Update on Athens Workers

On Tuesday December 10th, Athens sanitation workers as well as labor, environmental, faith and community organizations packed the Beverly Hills City Hall chambers to oppose a contract extension with Athens. The city did approve the contract extension. But with the support of labor and community leaders, we were able to insert worker retention language, which will ensure that these workers keep their jobs. We must still be vigilant but this is huge!

 

In addition, we got the city to increase their environmental standards. We did this in Beverly Hills!

 

When we fight, we win! And when we lead with the truth and speak from the heart, we can change hearts and minds. La lucha sigue!!!
