On November 10, Joan Jones Holtz received the Bob Hattoy Award at the Sierra Club California Annual Convention for her outstanding work in the political realm in California. This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to Sierra Club political activities in California.

While Joan has been a tireless political activist for many years, this award particularly honored her for her work raising money for the California Sierra Club Political Action Committee. Joan has been organizing and leading trips to the Channel Islands as a way to raise money for the California Sierra Club Political Action Committee for over 26 years. During this time she has lead over 150 trips and raised over $100,000. This money has been used to help Sierra Club endorsed candidates who are very appreciative of our support.

Not only have her trips been a huge success in raising money, the participants have had a great time.

Congratulations to Joan. An award well deserved!
