In the past, the Angeles Chapter worked closely with two different foundations: The Sierra Club Foundation (the fiscal sponsor for the whole Sierra Club) and the Angeles Chapter Foundation.

As of Dec.4, 2016, the Angeles Chapter is simplifying its approach, and requests that tax-deductible donations to support the Chapter's charitable activities be made only through the Sierra Club Foundation.

The Sierra Club Foundation offers a variety of ways to give, depending on what works best for any individual donor, including gifts of cash, stock, bonds, real estate, or other assets. The Foundation is also happy to assist donors who want to make a charitable commitment from wills, living trusts, or other estate plans. Most gifts qualify for maximum tax advantage under federal law.  For more information and to make a tax-deductible donation online, go to angeles.sierraclub.org/scf.

To make a tax-deductible donation with a personal check, please write Sierra Club Foundation - Angeles Chapter in the memo line and make it payable to: Sierra Club Foundation

Send it to:
Sierra Club Foundation

The Sierra Club Foundation is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Code. IRS regulations require that you retain a written acknowledgement from the Foundation to support your claim of a tax deduction. A receipt of your gift will be mailed to you shortly. The Foundation confirms that you received no goods or services in return for your gift.

By law, the Sierra Club Foundation retains control and discretion/variance power over all charitable funds received, including how they are disbursed within the purposes for which they were contributed; the Foundation reserves the unilateral right to select those recipients or beneficiaries it believes will best accomplish those purposes. Accordingly, funds that may remain after a specific purpose has been achieved or is no longer necessary or feasible will be used to support programs that the Foundation determines are reasonably similar to the intended purpose for which donated. Such funds may be directed to the organization to which originally directed or a similar program or another organization within the general mission of the Sierra Club Foundation.
