It's a crazy political year ...

The upcoming 2016 presidential election can be summed up in one word: unprecedented.

The number of candidates vying for the GOP nomination and larger-than-life personalities of some candidates (need we say more?) add up to one confusing election time.

Don’t let it throw you.

The Chapter Political Committee knows that the presidential race isn’t the only place where environmentalists need to flex their political muscle.

This year the Sierra Club will be vetting candidates – from your local City Council to your state Senator or Assembly member to president– and endorsing only those who demonstrate a commitment to protecting the environment.

It’s a process that includes personal interviews with candidates and research – and we take this job seriously.

You can expect to see endorsements here for local, state and, yes, federal offices as we do our job to guide voters on which good environmentalists are worthy of their vote.
