California Gov. Jerry Brown has finally declared a state of emergency in response to the massive out-of-control gas leak that has been flowing unchecked -- and sickening residents -- for months.

On Jan. 9 (Saturday), there will be an important public hearing to consider what measures should be taken to hold Southern California Gas Co. accountable for the gas leak in Porter Ranch, and protect the community from additional harm.

Can you join hundreds TOMORROW for a rally and public meeting to make sure SoCalGas is held accountable and this leak is fixed as quickly as possible? RSVP today to let us know you'll stand with other concerned citizens!

Here are the details:

WHAT: Public hearing on the Porter Ranch gas leak

WHEN: Saturday, January 9, community rally at 8 a.m., followed by the public hearing beginning at 9 a.m.

WHERE: Granada Hills Charter High School, 10535 Zelzah Avenue, Granada Hills, CA 91344 [Map]

The Hearing Board will take public testimony and consider an Order of Abatement from the South Coast Air Quality Management District, declaring SoCalGas out of compliance with the law and requiring them to take immediate measures to stop and mitigate the impacts of this disaster, monitor the leaking gas, and reduce the impacts of nuisance odors on the local community.

We need to show decision makers that the community demands strict measures be taken immediately to shut down this facility and begin to repair the damage SoCalGas has caused.

Will you join hundreds of concerned citizens tomorrow at this important rally and public hearing to get answers and demand solutions to this devastating gas catastrophe?

Thanks for protecting our climate and communities.
