Need some quick facts about electric vehicles? With National Drive Electric Week coming up from Sept. 12 to 20, we've got you covered. Download the Sierra Club's Electric Vehicle Guide to learn more. Here's a sample of why it's important to join the electric revolution:
- Each year, American Each year, American passenger cars and trucks burn 121 billion gallons of gasoline and spew upwards of 3 trillion pounds of carbon pollution into the air.
- In almost in every region of the country, carbon emissions from the electricity sources used to power EVs are lower than the emissions from conventional cars (doing a full lifecycle analysis).
- Most new fully electric vehicles can drive 70-100 miles on one charge.
- There are currently more than 20 fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles available at US dealerships.
