In 2014 Marjorie Alexander joined the Sierra Club for the first time and hit the ground running.

She helped design the John Muir book published by the Chapter, which came out this year, interned at Angeles Chapter headquarters during the spring and continues to be active in the Chapter's monthly activities.

"The Angeles Chapter staff really took me under their wing and I was able to see how organizations like the Sierra Club get things done in the community," Alexander says. "They definitely showed me what was possible."

She just launched her new podcast A Sustainable Mind where she interviews the people behind the most impactful inventions, organizations and companies working to protect our planet. Alexander came up with the idea while working towards her Master's degree and decided to tackle it as her thesis project. She hopes to help inspire everyday people to become everyday activists through one earth conscious act each day.
