I've been honored to serve for four years on the Angeles Chapter Executive Committee, including chair last year, and am seeking your support for re-election. The ExCom is our board of directors, meeting Sunday afternoons once a month, especially to adopt the Chapter's conservation policies, make political endorsements, establish programs, appoint committee chairs, and oversee our budget.

This is a critical time where the Sierra Club can make a difference! As Angeles Chapter Conservation chair this year I've begun a planning process on how we can become more effective. I am also a member of Sierra Club California's Executive Committee and Energy- Climate Committee, and co-chair of the Angeles Chapter Transportation committee. My personal focus continues to be seeking more sustainable transportation and energy - how can we make cities more livable, including protecting parks and open space, as we confront Global Warming and Peak Oil?

I've been a member of the Sierra Club since my early teens in the 1960s. I'm proud that I met my wife Virginia on a Sierra Club Santa Monica Mountains hike, and we celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary in July.

Now 'semi-retired' to focus fulltime on environmental issues, my past career was in technical marketing and management, following a B.A. in Economics and M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
