Born in Newport, RI, Bob lived in the Panama Canal Zone in high school, went to college in San Diego and earned his masters degree at the University of Southern California while living in Torrance. He joined the Sierra Club in the early seventies and lead many hiking, biking events with the Sierra Singles Section and the Palos Verdes/South Bay Group. His work took him to Huntsville, AL. On retirement from TRW he returned to San Diego and continued his outdoor activities with a bicycle and camera club in San Diego. Additionally he served as a volunteer docent at the San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park.

He is survived by his sister Joan Dudley of Coronado, her husband Paul, and her three daughters: Elizabeth, Marilyn and Patricia.

His friends miss him. Let us remember the smiling, the laughing, the talking the sharing and caring. Let us remember the good times always. Good people live on in our own spirits. We will always be grateful to his friends in San Diego who supported him when our separation made it difficult for us to give him the help and companionship we would have offered.
