ANNUAL CHAPTER WORKSHOP FOR VOLUNTEER FUN-SEEKERS By Mary Morales
Mark your calendar and make plans to attend the annual Angeles Chapter Leadership Academy Volunteer Training Workshop on Saturday, March 7, 2008, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at Eaton Canyon Nature Center, 1750 N Altadena Dr, Pasadena, CA 91107. Newly elected or returning group, activity section or committee officers and appointed chair, don't miss this opportunity to learn how to manage your duties, where to find information on the Chapter and National websites, as well as who to call for help. Network with the Chapter's Executive Committee members and other long-time Sierra Club volunteers. This event is FREE and everyone is welcome - member or non-member. However, attendees are required to pre-register, as space is limited at the facility. A full schedule of individual workshops will include training in Conservation, Membership, Outings Planning, Publicity, Newsletter Editing, Political Activism, New Member Recruiting, Webmaster tips and much more. Look for the complete agenda in the March Southern Sierran and on the Angeles Chapter website www.angeles.sierraclub.org The event begins at 8:30 am with registration, continental breakfast and a welcome from the 2009 Chapter ExComm chair. Several presentations and introduction of a special guest speaker precede the various breakout sessions, which begin at 10:00 am and resume after lunch (also included with registration). Register as soon as possible, whether you are a seasoned veteran or a new Sierra Club member interested in finding out how to join Angeles Chapter's cadre of volunteer activists. Come solo or bring a friend. Did we mention it's a FREE event and there are DOOR PRIZES? Contact Mary Morales, (949) 586-9528, 10ter@cox.net by March 5th for more information and to reserve a spot. |
