Sat Mar 10 , 2007 Mountain Bike O: Aliso/Woods Park, New Rider Day Always wanted to try mountain biking but just didn’t know where to start? Here’s your chance to get some one on one instruction on handling, trail etiquette, maintenance, upgrading your bike or choosing a new one; plus lots of tips and hints on what extras you’ll need, clothing to wear and places to ride. Sat Mar 17, 2007 Mountain Bike O: New Rider Day Romp Chomping at the bit to hone those new rider skills? Join us for a leisurely follow up ride to last weeks training. Easy-paced mountain bike ride 2-3 hour (C/T2/E2), specifically tailored for beginners. Meet 8 am at Peters Regional Park main (north) parking lot. From I-5, N on Jamboree or from 55 Fwy, E on Chapman, take Canyon View to park entrance, If park is closed, meet in Taco Bell parking lot on corner of Chapman and Jamboree). Bring $2 parking fee, mountain bike, spare tube or patch kit, tire pump, snacks and water. Rain in previous 24 hours cancels.
Sat Apr 7, 2007 Mountain Bike O: San Juan Trail: Celebrate Spring! We’ll start at the bottom of our adopted trail and head up to Cocktail Rock; do a clockwise loop around the top. Then it’s all-downhill back to the cars. Great views of the local mountains and the Pacific and a chance to check on our trail work. 21 mi, 1800’ gain; B/T2.5/E2.5.
