GoalsThe Mountain Bike Committee was established on June 22, 2002 with three purposes in mind: 1. Improve communication and understanding among the Sierra Club, other organizations, and the mountain bike community (Advocacy); 2. Work to improve trails and foster responsible land use in mountain biking areas (Conservation); and 3. Conduct safe and responsible mountain bike outings on approved trails and roads (Recreation). MissionPromote responsible mountain biking on trails and roads, stimulate interest in mountain biking, and support conservation and preservation of our forests and trail systems. Conduct a new rider program, bike maintenance classes, and participate in trail maintenance activities. Mountain bike outings provide outdoor recreation, introduce people to our forests, and generate support for protective activities. ProfileThe Mountain Bike Committee is an activity committee of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club. We provide a calendar of mountain bike outings, trail maintenance and conservation other activities, and advocacy opportunities to our members and guests, "The Mountain Bike Committee was founded by concerned Sierra Club volunteers who believe that mountain biking is a valid recreational activity with needs and goals very similar to hiking. It is more effective to address those needs within the Sierra Club than as outsiders". Randall Danta - Founder, Mountain Bike Committee Contact Information
