  • Publication Policy: The Leadership Training Committee voted to drop the I/M/E requirement that one provisional lead be published in the Chapter Schedule of Activities. The LTC continues to encourage candidates to seek a diverse group of participants by publishing in the Schedule, the Southern Sierran, or by co-listing their outings with several Angeles Chapter entities.
  • Check-off Policy: If a candidate fails a checkout, that person should be assigned to a different examiner at the next checkout that person attends if at all possible.

OLT-101 Leader Training Refresher

The National Leader Standards require leaders to refresh their training at least every four years. This means reviewing (1) National policies and also (2) Angeles Chapter policies.

1. You can refresh on National policies by doing any one of the following:
   • Reading the OLT 101 text and completing the OLT 101 self-assessment. — OR —
   • Completing the OLT 101 Web-based training. — OR —
   • Participating in a study group. OLT 101 teaching materials are available online. — OR —
   • Reading the Outings Leaders Handbook (OLH), revised 10/20/07. — OR —
   • Reading the first five chapters of the current Angeles Chapter Leader's Reference Book (available from the LTC Registrar), or attending one of the semi-annual Angeles Chapter Leadership Training Seminars.
2. You can refresh on Angeles Chapter policies by reading the Angeles Chapter OLT-101 Supplement
