The Sierra Club encourages its entities to use different channels of communication to communicate with their members. One of these channels is blogs. What is a blog? A blog, short for web log, is a web site on which one person can post a comment or idea and other people can contribute to that idea through comments. At its best a blog is a great way to create a dialog and make a good idea better. At its worst a blog is a way to air unfounded complaints and opinions about others. I believe our members will use these blogs to make the Long Beach Group better. We shall see.
The initial entry is called a post.
People can comment to that post, by "leaving a comment."
You can even comment on a comment, creating a chain.
Our blogs were created with Blogger, and thus will require either a google or
blogger account to contribute.
The Outings Blog was created to enable the members of the Long Beach Group to post comments regarding Outings Issues. I think there's a lot we can share with each other, particularly with regards to how our outings went, and what we'd like to do in the future. I'm hoping to spur some discussion, and disseminate ideas about what we can do on our own to improve our outings.
The Conservation Blog was created to enable the members of the Long Beach Group to post comments regarding Conservation Issues. I think there's a lot we can share with each other, particularly with regards to how we each are reducing our water and carbon foot prints. I'm hoping to spur some discussion, and disseminate ideas about what we can do on our own to address these issues.
Have fun! And get bloggin!
