What we do: The Chapter Legal Committee serves as a pool of pro-bono legal resources to provide advice and legal work to Chapter conservation activists. We also provide legal information to our Chapter via events and newsletters.

The Angeles Chapter is seeking new members for its Chapter Legal Committee.

The Chapter Legal Committee serves as a pool of pro-bono legal resources to provide advice and legal work to Chapter conservation activists.  It also provides legal information to our Chapter via events and newsletters.  The members of the Angeles Chapter Legal Committee are lawyers or other legal professionals who have volunteered their time to help Angeles Chapter committees and task forces with their legal issues.

Legal Committee members may be called upon to assist Conservation Committee or Task Force members in evaluating an Environmental Impact Report or interpreting a regulatory agency policy.  In the past, they have presented an Environmental Law Workshop annually for the benefit not only of Chapter members, but also meeting the local legal community’s CLU requirements.

Perhaps you are a lawyer with a background or interest in environmental law, or a recent law school graduate who can offer assistance and build your resume at the same time.

If so, we would like to hear from you.  Contact Acting Chair, Joe Andrews or go to the Sierra Club’s Volunteer Connection website:  and sign up as a volunteer for the Angeles Chapter Legal Committee.
