Join us on April hikes that celebrate John Muir

John Muir was born April 21, 1838. Each year the Chapter celebrates with a series of rendez-vous hikes: Various groups start out on different hikes and meet up to celebrate the Sierra Club founder.

Join us for these special hikes that commemorate the life of the Sierra Club founder who persuaded presidents and America to protect its wildlands forever.

The hikes: Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area

Santa Ynez Canyon (8 miles)

Dead Horse Trail (easy 4 miles)

Muir Peak via Sunset Ridge trail and Mt. Lower fire road (12 miles)

Muir Peak via Echo Mountain and Castle Canyon (10 miles)

Muir Peak via Mt. Lowe Trail from Eaton Saddle (8 miles)
