For non-profit organizations that fit all the qualifications of the Gear Bank program, REI offers free rentals on selected sleeping bags, sleeping pads, backpacks, car camping tents, stoves, cook sets, and ponchos (subject to availability). Reservations must be made at least two to three weeks ahead of time. Required paperwork and waivers for every participant must be signed by children and guardians before the time of rental.
