The scheduled and tentatively planned outings of the Hundred Peaks Section are below.
Outings are just plain fun. They give you a chance to explore and enjoy our mountains with friends who share your interests. In fact, one of the main purposes of our outings is to deepen our appreciation of and support for protecting the Los Angeles area mountains. Outings vary in difficulty and pace, which means anyone from novices to trail runners can find trips that fit their conditioning. Most hikes are for people only, but well-behaved dogs are welcome on hikes so designated. And no, you don't need to be a member of the Sierra Club.
Yourself. Unless otherwise specified, sturdy shoes and outdoor clothing, layers to cope with changing weather, food and water, a first aid kit, a hat!, sunscreen. A sense of wonder, a sense of adventure, a sense of humor...
Like all organizations, the Sierra Club is sensitive to liability issues arising from our activities. Three specific matters must be addressed:
  1. In the interests of facilitating the logistics of some outings, it is customary that participants make voluntary carpooling arrangements. The Sierra Club does not have insurance for carpooling arrangements and assumes no liability for them. Carpooling, ride sharing or anything similar is strictly a private arrangement among participants. Participants assume the risks associated with this travel.
  2. All participants on Sierra Club outings are required to sign a standard liability waiver. If you would like to read the Liability Waiver before you choose to participate on an outing, please go to:
or contact the Outings Department at (415) 977-5528 for a printed version.
  3. Unless otherwise stated, there is no charge or fee to participate in our outings. But a disclaimer: CST 2087766-40. Registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by the State of California.
If the outing has a meeting place and time ... you don't need to contact the leaders, just show up on time with your hiking gear. Otherwise, most of the outings in the "new" format below (the table with tabs for List, Map and Calendar Views) have the leader contact information included: just click on the outing. (This new system will eventually support online registration ... watch this space?)
