Bald Eagle Peak

6181'

Bald Eagle Peak is located in Kern County, 4 miles south of Bodfish/Lake Isabella, 155 miles from Los Angeles. It lies within the Sequoia National Forest. Bald Eagle Peak was added to the HPS Peak List in 1970. See the Summit Signature for more history and some background about the name of the peak.

Peak Guides
HPS has two current documented routes to the peak. Route 1 is 1 ½ miles round trip with a total of 600' of gain, and sidehills on a use trail around an intermediate bump before scrambling up some easy Class 2 rock to the summit. Route 2 is 1.2 miles and ascends a gully to a ridge thence to the summit. The Class 2 rock may be easier on Route 2.

Older Peak Guides (routes may no longer be legal or safe, use caution!): 1972, 1992, and Microsoft Word version from 2001.
