2012 Sep 2. Climb Mount Tom, 13652 ft. elevation from the locked
gate below Horton Lake near Bishop.
I am looking for a few
companions that are very experienced with peak bagging, hiking up
and down steep scree, and in moderately good shape, willing to stick
together and (optionally, possibly, have already bagged this peak
previously?!) Mt Tom for us would be 11 miles RT, one day, 3800 ft
gain/loss. We will do the last mile of scree ascent slowly and
steadily. After the White Mt. GLS trip Aug 29-31, I will drive to
Bishop for the luxury of motel living and fatten up for this event
(at least 2 nights of rest). If you are not on the White Mt. hike,
then we could meet no later than the evening prior to our Mt Tom
hike. Call or email Susan Campo for discussion.
